Symptoms of Depression - September 25th, 2009

Are you experiencing a loss of interest in normal daily activities? Have you noticed that you are feeling sad or down? Do you feel hopeless or cry for no apparent reason? When people get depressed they might have problems sleeping, trouble focusing or concentrating, you might have difficulty making decisions. There is the potential for sudden weight gain or a significant amount of weight loss. When I was going through some depression a few years back, I was irritable, restless, easily annoyed. I felt weak and was easily fatigued. Being depressed makes it very easy to feel worthless.

I lost all interest in sex and had frequent thoughts of suicide. My friends and family were extremely worried about me and decided I needed some help. I checked into an out patient program that offered one on one therapy as well as group therapy. Sometimes in life we get overwhelmed and don’t feel like we can get over that hump or bump in the road. There are a lot of good anti-depressants out there that can help as well. If you are experiencing any of the above symptoms, you should really look into getting help, either from therapy or at least talking to your doctor about different anti-depressants.
